the day after

I have a hard time narrowing down the photo's that I like when it comes to flowers. So, sorry for all the images, but I couldn't edit anymore then this. Trust me, these are just a few of the photo's that I took yesterday, this easily could have been a few pages long!
It is the day after Valentine's Day and I do hope that all the couples and singles had a great day. I surprised Seth and work with an arrangement and chocolates and in return he took me to the best BBQ restaurant in Chicago, Smoque. Then for a drink at Scofflaw. Scofflaw is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to get a nice drink and cozy up.
What about that meteorite business! Can you believe it?

Have a great weekend and hopefully the sky won't fall on you.

wilted friend

These things don't last forever. At least this hydrangea got it's close up before fading into the sunset.

winter wild

I have a lot of extra flowers laying around. So I decided to have a play day with flowers. I started a series called wild at heart in the fall, however, in the winter it is hard to do anything for it. So, this is my take on winter wild. Just playing and having fun with my camera.

Enjoy the week.

sunshine + snow

When I went to the flower market this morning, I was drawn to the bright, beautiful, sunny color of the daffodil. It has been snowing for several days here in Chicago and I really wanted to create an arrangement that was light and sunny, a little kiss of summer. Yes, they may not be in season yet, but I couldn't help myself.

Hope you are all having a wonderful start to February.
